Fear... the reason we all hide at night, run when we hear footsteps, the way you shiver at night when you hear a thump. Horror games let you experience that for just a second- the rattle of your breath down your windpipe, the thump of your chest deep in your heart, a flinch- safely. From your computer.
As dark as that paragraph was, most games I play are more about the time before that initial jump and scream, the buildup of unnatural, horrifying, wrong. The idea of that- of the way things slowly rise- fascinates me. (And the despair once you know, because knowing is something that humanity chases, the way that knowing can make everything fall apart.)
All of this to say... I quite enjoy psychological thrillers.
Additionally, if you would like to play my NaNoRenO game once it's done, please feel free! (seriously. it's my first time doing a full-blown game with a finished product, so please let me know in the comments or ratings how I can improve or your thoughts and feelings about it.)
